In todays environment with modern changes it is difficult for a teenage girl to know exactly what is wrong and what is right with how she should act and behave. With all the media attention nowadays on celebrities and super models a teenage girl does become influenced by what she reads and hears.
Is it normal that all girls should look like a model and behave like a celebrity? No I do not think so. A teenage girl should just look and listen to the media but not take it seriously.
It is during the years of adolescence that the teenage girl develops her own character and personality. This is what makes each teenager an individual. Believe it or not but those teenagers who grow up without paying too much attention to the media often become successful, self confident members of society.
By focusing on what a teenager wants to be will allow her to develop intelligence, her own will and what to expect from others. By doing this the teenager is well prepared to take life's challenges and to deal with them accordingly making the right choices.
Should the teenage girl want to dress like a model, behave like a celebrity then they are living in somewhat a fantasy world and basically living in someone else's footsteps. Oh, its ok to dress smartly and with todays fashions but only dressing to be a super model might be borderline reality.
So how does a teenage girl build up her low self esteem? By becoming an individual and having a good look at her life. Ask questions such as how do my friends feel about me or how exactly do I fit into my family unit. Then ask what is it that makes me feel low in self confidence, what is it that is holding me back?
By addressing these issues a teenage girl is then ready to face each issue and to make improvements. These improvements only need to be taken slowly and as each improvement is made, then it follows that there will be an increase in self confidence and the girl will start to see herself in a more positive light.
